Children’s Neurology Services believes in providing our patients with the correct treatment plan, targeted towards their individual needs. Dr. Kleiman believes in the benefits of medication, but also understands that medication is not always the best course of action for every child. Dr. Kleiman believes in taking a team approach to individual treatment. She works closely with other providers, therapists, and counselors to provide collaborative care for our patients. She looks into alternative approaches, services, and therapies when they are beneficial to the treatment of the individual.

Please bring your insurance card. It is helpful to Dr. Kleiman if you can bring in any recent, relevant documentation on your child, such as notes or test results from the school, information from the pediatrician, or any observations made by family and friends. For behavioral concerns, tics, or seizures, it is helpful to take a video of the child performing or experiencing such behaviors.

It is very important that you arrive on time. If you are a new patient, or need to fill out paperwork for another reason, please arrive 10 minutes early so you can take care of it before your appointment.

Our office is housed in a restored Victorian home. We have a driveway on the side of our building that leads to a parking lot in the back. Patients enter through the back door, which has both stairs and a ramp.

Dr. Kleiman performs physical and neurological examinations during her evaluation, as physical health plays a role in neurological health. She may conduct her evaluation differently for each patient according to the reason for the evaluation and the child’s specific needs. Dr. Kleiman also uses this time to obtain as much information as possible regarding the patient’s family medical history.

The length of your appointment will be determined by the reason for the evaluation. If you are a new patient, regardless of your reason for coming in, you should expect to spend about 30-60 minutes with Dr. Kleiman so that she can get to know you and acquire as much information as possible to begin helping your child.
